Mesa, AZ

Woman smiling wide after getting CEREC same day crowns at Timothy H. Kindt, DDS in Mesa, AZ
Having any dental defect can significantly affect your smile and lower your confidence.

Same day crowns can help fix the problem and restore your smile if you have decayed, chipped, or broken teeth.

These dental appliances effectively repair tooth defects in the shortest time possible, giving you a confident and stunning smile.

Given the high number of people missing at least one tooth and many others suffering from oral conditions like decay, there is a need for same day dental crowns.

If it is your first time hearing about same day dental crowns, we at Timothy H. Kindt, DDS would like to enlighten you on how they function and why you should consider getting them.

What Are Same Day Crowns?

A same day dental crown involves advanced and innovative dental technology to repair damaged or chipped teeth. It uses computer-aided design in manufacturing damaged teeth replacements.

While same day dental crowns are structurally similar to a traditional permanent crown, their installation process differs significantly.

It will take you only one visit to our offices to get same day dental crowns, unlike conventional dental crowns that take around two weeks. Generally, it takes Dr. Kindt under two hours to complete the same day crown installation.

What Is the Process of Getting a Same Day Dental Crown?

There are several steps we take when restoring same-day dental crowns.

These steps are as follows:
•  Preparing: The first step is preparing the affected tooth to receive the dental crown. Note that your tooth must be reshaped by slimming it down for the dental crown to fit. This process is done by our professionals carefully filing down both the width and height of your tooth. The next step commences once the tooth is the ideal size.
•  Measuring: Next, we measure the tooth to obtain its digital impression. This is done shortly after it is prepared through filing. We use an intraoral camera to record your tooth's exact shape and size. This step is done smoothly as intraoral cameras are designed to fit in your mouth. We have embraced the new technology that makes it easy to obtain accurate impressions of the affected tooth. Previously, impressions filled with gummy material were fitted into the patient's mouth. The old system was unreliable and made some patients uncomfortable. This is no longer the case, thanks to new technology.
•  Designing: After obtaining a digital impression of your tooth, the next step is designing. The digital measurements are sent to our computer-aided software and hardware system for creating and designing crowns. We utilize this highly advanced technology to design an accurate new crown that looks like natural teeth. Then, we instruct the computer-aided software to start creating it. Upon receiving this command, the CEREC mill will start carving the crown made from reliable porcelain material. The material we use to make the crown matches the color of your tooth to ensure it looks as natural as possible.
•  Adjusting: Given the high quality and accuracy of the software, the CEREC crown usually has a superior quality to a crown created in the lab. This means that we will have to make a few adjustments to the crown before fitting it in your mouth. In most cases, we make tinting adjustments to ensure the crown resembles the surrounding teeth. Before we proceed to the last step, we give you a chance to review the appearance. Our professionals will help you make the necessary adjustments if necessary.
•  Bonding: When you are satisfied with the design of the crown, we permanently cement it to your tooth. Unlike traditional crowns, cementing same day crowns only takes a few hours.

The efficiency of this process is a huge improvement from the old system. Previously, patients had to come back after a few weeks for the last steps of crown installation. This was largely inconvenient, especially for those with other commitments. Thankfully, our same day crowns have changed the narrative. They are durable, fast, and beautiful, making them a reliable option.

What Are the Benefits of Same Day Crowns?

There are many benefits of same day dental crowns. As a person dealing with oral problems like chipped or decayed teeth, these crowns will make your life much better. Here are some of their benefits.

They Restore Tooth Function

When your tooth is damaged or broken, it affects your eating habits and speech patterns. You will have challenges performing mouth functions due to this setback. Same day dental crowns help fix such problems by restoring your tooth function. You will be able to speak, chew, and smile with confidence.

High Quality Materials

Same day crowns are permanent crowns made from high quality materials. They are not temporary fixes since they can last for so many years.

The durable ceramic material used to make same day crowns is one of the most durable substances. It is soft and prevents the need to keep metal in your mouth.

Even better, ceramic cannot irritate the surrounding teeth or your gums.

Save on Time

The fact that you can get these crowns in one visit means they save time. The process is done quickly and takes less than a few hours to complete. This is not the case with traditional crowns that take several weeks to install.

With the new technology, you can walk into our offices with chipped and damaged teeth and, two hours later, walk out with a perfectly installed crown.

They Look Better

Another benefit of same day dental crowns is that they look better. This is because they are designed with great precision that captures every detail of your tooth. The computer-aided technology makes these crowns look much better than traditional ones.

With same day crowns, you can be sure of a product that matches the natural color of your teeth. They also don't leave black lines along the gum lines, reducing the risk of gum damage. Same day crowns are more aesthetically pleasing and a reliable tooth replacement option.
